Guests Are Attracted To The Flame - Floating Candle Centerpieces

People put a lot of effort into party centerpieces. Whether you are talking about a wedding or just a casual soirée, having a nice dining table centerpiece is a great way to add a touch of class and beauty to the party. The effect is palpable. People take the occasion more serious, feel more friendly and festive, and in general have a better time. Setting the right decor is every bit as important as picking out the right dishes.

I have been manufacturing floating candle centerpieces for years now, but I didn’t start out making them. I had always admired them from afar as a matter of fact. When I was a kid, we used to put floating boats with candles in them on the river during a yearly festival. I don’t know what it was exactly – it had something to do with the founder of the town and most people weren’t familiar with the meaning. For us kids, it was just a simple excuse to enjoy the beautiful spectacle of tiny flickering flames drifting downstream. I used to love the way that it looked and wished I could take those flames with me all the time.

Back then, I wasn’t aware of the existence of floating candle centerpieces, but I sort of had the idea myself before I was ever exposed to it. Then one year, my dad took us along with him on a business vacation. We had occasion to go to an extremely fancy dinner and the tables were decorated with floating candle centerpieces. I remember the age very well. I was going through that period in life when fire is still the most fascinating thing in the world, and my mother carefully and repeatedly admonished me to stay away from the floating candle bowls. I have to admit that I played with them a few times during the evening, but for the most part I was pretty good.

The great thing about floating candle centerpieces and what attracted me to the business in the first place, was the variety of effects that you can get with very little effort. Some people prefer plain floating candles and this can have a certain elegance to it. Add a mirror the bowl and you have a whole other level of decoration. Add customized floating candles, perhaps shaped like flowers, small boats or even faces and you have an even more interesting effect. A simple floating candle centerpiece can be give way to dozens of effects.
